VALENTINE’S DAY RIDE SCHEDULE
VALENTINE’S DAY RIDE 12:30PM – 5:00PM
You know what to bring, water, snacks, sunscreen cell phone for photos, etc. There may be a beverage refreshment station at the base of Middle Mountain on its northeasterly side where we pass by.
RIDE BEGINS AT TOM MIX MEMORIAL AT 12:30PM
Meet at Tom Mix Memorial, east to Escalante Tank then north crossing over Smoke Rd, also known as, I think, 96 Mile Rd (well-used dirt road) continue north passing Middle Mountain on the east side, to Paisano Wash where the trail ends at a fence.
From there head west a couple miles, riding the sandy wash to where you can head north out of the wash in the middle of section 18, riding around the small rise on its west side. This rise has a cross on top of it.
This portion of the trail takes you west to where Paisano (paved) Road curves North towards that Greek Monastery. That end location is about a mile east of Hwy 79 where there is a green gate to go through.
The distance is about ten or twelve miles, good terrain, sandy wash for a mile or two in Paisano Wash. Beautiful Sonora Desert scenery all the way. Don’t get too far off the trail, lot’s of cholla cactus.
RIDE ENDS AT PAISANO 5:00PM
Probably only a 15-minute drive with the horse trailers to the Windmill Winery from Paisano. Will have short shuttle ride back and forth to Tom Mix Monument for vehicles, that can be figured out there.
DINNER & SHOW 6:00PM
Dave Stamey is performing a Valentines Day show at Windmill Winery.
Plenty of parking at the Windmill Winery. Head to the winery and find their watering hole for beverages before the show and dinner gets started at 6pm. If you want to see Dave Stamey and partake in the dinner, you will need to contact The Windmill Winery or book tickets online. Tickets are $55.
Go to the dinner or not, up to you! We’d love for you to join the whole day if you can!
